View cache partitions

Cache Partitioning divides the cache memory into multiple partitions with unique names and their device path assignments.

About this task

Cache partitions can be viewed on storage systems running HYPERMAX OS 5977 Q316SR or later, but they cannot be managed.

Steps

  1. Select the storage system.
  2. Select the System Health tab.
  3. In the Actions panel, click View Other Hardware.
    Use the Cache Partitions list view to display cache partitions.

    The following properties display:

    Name Name of the partition.
    Min % Minimum target percentage.
    Tgt % Target cache percentage.
    Max % Maximum cache percentage.
    Donation Time Length of time before idle cache is made available to other partitions.
    WP Limit Write pending limit percentage.
    Slots Used Number of cache slots used by the partition.
    % Used Percentage of cached used by the partition.
    Alerts Director alert status, as indicated by icon color:
    • Fatal alert icon One or more fatal alerts
    • Critical alert icon One or more critical alerts, with none higher
    • Warning alert icon One or more warning alerts, with none higher
    • Information alert icon One or more informational alerts, with none higher
    • No alerts icon No alerts
